Kinlochy farm's unique position and composition means big potential for environmental sustainability and self sufficiency.
In line with this Heating on the farm is currently provided by Peat which is harvested on the farm. This fuel source has been used in this area for centuries and is still harvested and stacked into mounds as it has been for hundreds of years
Scotlands current planning laws allow the construction of a single wind turbine on the property as long as it is 100m from other properties. This is something we plan to take advantage of in the near future. The goal is for the farm to become entirely self sufficient with all energy sourced on the farm and drinking water supplied from the Loch.
